Junior Beta Club
The National Junior Beta Club recognizes outstanding achievement, promotes character and social responsibility, encourages service involvement in school and community, and fosters leadership skills. Students that make an A in every subject, every quarter in the 6th grade, are invited to join the Beta Club and are members during their 7th and 8th-grade years at OCMS. We do many activities and projects during the year for the school and community. For example, we have two hat days in the fall, and we sponsor spirit week during Homecoming. At Christmas, we collect toys to be given to needy children in Oglethorpe County. In addition, the Beta Club sells flowers for Valentine's Day to be given to friends, teachers, or parents.
The OCMS Beta Club meets once a month after school to discuss upcoming events and projects. We have elected officers for the year and formed a public relations committee and a project committee. The Beta members for this year are already off to a great start and working hard.
Information
Beta Club members should come to the cafeteria after the 4th load bell on meeting days. Refreshments will be provided for the first and last meetings of the year. Bring your own snack and drink for all the other meetings.
