Google Classroom

All class assignments, assessments, and resource materials are posted to Google Classroom. Students are encouraged to frequently check Google Classroom for new postings, especially when absent from class. All assignments on Google Classroom can be completed in school or out of school.

Current Events

To facilitate understanding the various cultures studies throughout the school year, students will be assigned current event articles from various news sources in Asia and Africa. Electronic copies of the articles and study questions will be posted to Google Classroom and students will also receive a hard copy of both in class.

There will be 8 Current Event assignments each quarter with a culminating assignment at the end of each quarter. Students will be quizzed at the end of the week when a current event reading has been assigned for that week. The questions on those quizzes will be taken directly from the study questions so those questions do serve as a study guide for the quiz.

Class Notes

Students will take notes in class from a variety of formats with the notes being written in their Social Studies Composition Notebook. It is very important for students to keep up with their notebooks as those notes can be used during Unit Tests and as a resource when completing projects.

Flocabulary

Flocabulary Assignments can be accessed via the assignment link posted to Google Classroom. Students can complete Flocabulary assignments during the school day or out of school if able to access the internet.
